A private family commission featuing the Greubel family. The painting includes various elements of signifcance to the sitters.
"The rug is actually a scan of the new baby daughter featured in the foreground. On the left next to the silver toy car, I included a hidden skull in the pattern of the rug as a vanitas motif. It is viewable from a fixed point like the visual trick in The Ambassadors by Holbein. We talked about it and decided to cover the baby girls dress in diamond dust. It seemed fitting".
